The rabaischocs application (hereinafter the “ Application ”) is the exclusive property of Les Éditions Blainville Deux-Montagnes Inc. (JCL Group), whose head office is located at 53, rue Saint-Eustache, in Saint-Eustache (Qc), J7R 2L2.

RABAISCHOCS is the controller of your Personal Data.

Protecting your Personal Data is important to RABAISCHOCS.

Therefore, RABAISCHOCS has developed this Privacy Policy, which details how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your Personal Data in connection with your use of the Application and its services.   • Create your account on our Application;
  • order a service or product on the Application;
  • communicate with RABAISCHOCS (or one of our partners using one of the means provided by RABAISCHOCS), including, where applicable, regarding your requests for information, questions or comments relating to the application, the application’s products or services;
  • submit or post content on a discussion forum operated by RABAISCHOCS;
  • participate in a draw or competition sponsored by RABAISCHOCS or one of our partners;
  • subscribe to the RABAISCHOCS newsletter;
  • fill out a form, questionnaire or survey on our Application or elsewhere;
  • Subscribe to receive special offers from RABAISCHOCS or one of our partners on our app.

Processing related to recruitment is outside the scope of this Policy.

Uses of your Personal Data

We process your Personal Data for the purposes detailed in the table below. For each purpose, we have also specified the reason (“legal basis”) that makes the processing of Personal Data necessary.

Disclosure of Personal Data / Recipients

RABAISCHOCS will not sell or rent your Personal Data to anyone except as provided in this Privacy Policy or by agreement. However, your Personal Data may be disclosed to recipients for the purposes defined in this Policy.

When you use the Application, communicate with us or purchase vouchers, RABAISCHOCS communicates some of your Personal Data to affiliated companies and/or other recipients such as merchants and partners distributing offers on our application, our service providers (e.g., data hosting, payment service provider), our business partners as well as judicial and administrative authorities (e.g., police, courts), only when necessary and justified for a specific purpose, such as to provide you with the service you have chosen or to comply with our legal obligations.

We will share your Personal Data with affiliated companies if you take part in an activity requiring identification: in this case, your information will only be shared with the affiliated company involved in that identification activity.

We will limit the use of this Personal Data to the purposes defined above, in accordance with the Privacy Policy. For example, if you purchase a discount voucher on our Application, we may share the necessary data with the voucher seller, including your name, email address, and the name of the city where you live, or, in the case of a voucher purchased for the benefit of another person, that other person’s Personal Data, in order to provide the service or product ordered.

In certain cases, RABAISCHOCS may disclose Personal Data, including to strategic partners who work with us to provide or market products and services, to third-party advertisers for the purpose of providing and measuring personalized advertising, or when we have reason to believe that such disclosure is necessary to identify or contact an individual, or to take legal action if we believe they are violating RABAISCHOCS’s terms of use, or if they are intentionally or unintentionally interfering with the rights of RABAISCHOCS or those of our partners and/or other users of the Application. RABAISCHOCS may also access your Personal Data and share it with authorities to the extent required by law.

Information made public

We may have spaces on our Application where you can post information, communicate with other users, give your opinion on products or other topics, and submit media content. This information can be seen by third parties and appear in web searches or on other websites: this means that this information can be read, copied, and used by anyone! Therefore, if your email address is displayed in a post or comment, you may receive unsolicited emails. RABAISCHOCS has no control over the users who will read your comments or how they will use the information you voluntarily post. Therefore, please be careful about the personal information you choose to share.

The retention of Personal Data

RABAISCHOCS retains your Personal Data only for a limited period, which is determined according to the nature of the data in question and the purpose of the processing concerned, or for the period necessary to comply with our legal obligations and/or to defend and assert our rights.

The retention periods applicable to Personal Data collected by RABAISCHOCS are generally as follows:

  • as long as your customer account remains active or the contract between us is in force, and then for five years from the end of that contract; or
  • as long as we remain in contact with you through our activities, and three years after the last interaction with you, unless you object earlier when you receive one of our marketing messages.

Once Personal Data is no longer necessary for the above purposes or to comply with our legal obligations or to defend and enforce our rights, we ensure that it is destroyed or anonymized.

Your rights regarding Personal Data

You have the right to access, rectify, and erase all or part of your Personal Data, as well as the right to object to processing, the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, and the right to restrict processing and to data portability. You also have the right to provide general or specific instructions regarding the processing of your Personal Data after your death.

For processing based on your consent, you also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without such withdrawal affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on your consent carried out before this withdrawal.

We may refuse to process requests that jeopardize the protection of the Personal Data of others or that do not meet the requirements of applicable local laws for the protection of Personal Data.

We make every effort to comply with our obligations under applicable local laws regarding the protection of Personal Data. With respect to your rights, we are committed to taking all reasonable steps to respond fairly to any request or complaint concerning the use of your Personal Data as described in this Policy.

Third-party sites and services

The Application contains numerous hyperlinks to other third-party websites that we do not control. Since we have no control over these sites, we are not responsible for them or their content, and in particular for their privacy or personal data protection practices. We strongly advise you to read the privacy policy of each third-party website you visit that collects your Personal Data.

Changes to our Policy

RABAISCHOCS may modify and update its Privacy Policy at any time, particularly to reflect changes in laws and regulations, and to clarify the use of your data in light of modifications to our Application and its services. When we make substantial changes to the Policy, you will be notified upon accessing the Application, and the updated version of the Privacy Policy will be available on our Application.
We therefore invite you to consult this Policy regularly.

International users

The information you provide may be transferred to or accessed by entities around the world, as described in this privacy policy. In such cases, Les Éditions Blainville Deux-Montagnes complies with the provisions of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (CQLR), chapter P-39.1, with respect to the collection, use, and retention of personal information.

Personal Data concerning children

We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child under the age of 13, we will take the necessary steps to delete it as soon as possible, unless we are legally required to retain it.
