Campagne d'achat local

Buy local campaign

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry MRC de Deux-Montagnes (CCI2M) and rabaischocs.com , a platform developed by the JCL Group, invite the population of the MRC de Deux-Montagnes to take advantage of this month of November to make their purchases from local merchants.

The initiative is part of a local purchase campaign that the CCI2M and rabaischocs.com officially launched on Tuesday, November 1st, during a press conference held at Torréfactorie, a Saint-Eustache company specializing in the sale of espresso machines and accessories, as well as roasting coffee beans on site.

With the theme “Everything you need, close to home!”, the campaign’s primary goal is to change consumer perceptions of buying local. It aims to remind them that ” the range of local shops is varied and plentiful, so discover and buy locally ” and that ” buying local means improving the economy for everyone .”

Two partners, one cause

Pierre-Marc Langlois, Director for the JCL Group, said he was particularly proud that this local purchase campaign was powered via rabaischocs.com , a JCL Group platform which notably publishes your weekly newspapers L’ÉVEIL and LA CONCORDE.

The platform in question, which has just been given a new, more modern and user-friendly look, is actually a shopping site offering numerous gift certificates redeemable at local businesses. Consumers can purchase them at a discount, sometimes up to 50% off the original price, with no expiration date.

“rabaischocs.com allows consumers to get more from local businesses. In this way, everyone creates value. For participating businesses, it is also a showcase allowing them to make themselves known and attract either new customers or retain long-standing customers ,” explained Pierre-Marc Langlois.

For his part, the president of the CCI2M, Sylvain Barisselle, himself president of a local company with a storefront on 25th Avenue in Saint-Eustache, called Jiffy Lube Québec, is very familiar with the realities of retail trade.

Consumers need to develop pride in shopping at local businesses while also being aware of the wide range of commercial offerings in the region. Therefore, a purchase made within the Deux-Montagnes RCM supports an entire community. Whether through job creation or social engagement, local businesses are at the heart of the economic vitality of each town and municipality ,” he stated.

The course of the campaign

Throughout November, your weekly newspaper L’ÉVEIL will publish three special pages each week highlighting businesses participating in rabaischocs.com. These businesses offer consumers the opportunity to purchase gift certificates worth more than the price paid, a way for them to thank consumers for shopping locally.

The CCI2M will also be holding a draw for a $25 gift certificate from each participating business among consumers who have filled out a raffle entry form. Participating businesses that are members of the CCI2M will be those offering consumers the chance to win the gift certificates through a raffle box available in their stores.

In addition, in order to reward participating businesses, the CCI2M will purchase a second gift certificate worth $25 from them, which will be drawn, this time, from among all participating businesses.

Continuing its commitment to recognizing the involvement of local businesses, the CCI2M will be holding a draw for a $100 gift certificate redeemable at the CCI2M. To conclude the campaign, participating businesses will be invited to a networking event scheduled for November 30th.
